ABOUT Steve

Following Steve’s first career in the Royal Australian Air Force in Aircraft Engineering with a slightly wild side of several thousand skydives, he moved to Texas, drawn by the familiarity of time spent at Bergstrom AFB in Austin.

His love of photography started while skydiving using huge VHS tape cameras strapped to the side of his helmet (recorder mounted on his chest) and a still camera mounted on the helmet front using this funny stuff called FILM which took a week or more to ever see the results. Yeah, it was hard work.

Having settled down (relatively speaking) in Texas as Process Engineer in the Semiconductor business, with a side gig as a flight instructor and later as a tactics/procedures instructor for the USAF, he found digital cameras now provided more immediate gratification of success or failure.

Digital photography has allowed Steve to blend Landscape and nighttime astro-photography with similar equipment governed only by the weather of the moment.

He enjoys the high intensity of racing and airshow photography, with the controlled  balance of portraits capturing the human emotion.
